History
Our story starts way back.
The Abu Dhabi Fishermen Cooperative Society is a cornerstone of the fishing industry in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and a vital source of fresh, high-quality fish for the community. ADFCS is a Non-Government Organization (NGO), established in 1990 to serve and support the needs of local fishermen, the Society has grown into a reputable and multifaceted organization dedicated to supporting and empowering Emirati fishermen while promoting sustainable fishing practices, conserving marine life and the preservation of the UAE’s rich maritime heritage.
As a cooperative, all shareholders are Emirati fishermen, reflecting our commitment to empowering local citizens and fostering sustainable growth in the fishing sector. Over the years, we have expanded our services to not only support fishermen but also to provide a wide range of products and services to the public, making us a trusted name in the UAE.
Today, the Abu Dhabi Fishermen Cooperative Society is more than just a source of fresh fish; it is a hub for innovation, community engagement, cultural preservation and conservation of marine life. We take immense pride in playing a pivotal role in meeting the nation’s fishing needs while actively contributing to the economic and social development of Abu Dhabi. Through its multifaceted efforts, ADFCS continues to foster a legacy of sustainability, tradition, and progress.
